    What's New for 2025?

    New for 2025, the stylish Sport trim exclusively features bronze exterior accents such as the side cladding, front intake cover, and the 20" aluminum alloy wheels. Inside the spacious 7-seater cabin, you'll find black all-weather StarTex® water-repellent upholstery with bronze contrast stitching with 2nd-row captain’s chairs and gloss black ornaments.


    The available Subaru DriverFocusTM – Distraction Mitigation System (DMS) utilizes a camera angled at the driver’s face and facial recognition software to monitor fatigue or lack of attention. While the front-view camera captures a near 180-degree view of what’s surrounding the front of the Ascent Sport.

    Room for Everyone

    Incredible quietness, superior spaciousness, and room for either 7 or 8 passengers, depending on trim level and personal choice. All versions showcase plenty of soft-touch surfaces and the expansive comfort that only comes from superior ergonomics. Standard LED reading lights offer excellent visibility.


    The 8-seat version features 60/40-split flat-folding second and third rows. On the 7-seat version, the second-row captain’s chairs fold flat as well. All trim levels feature standard roof rails, cargo hooks and tie-downs.

    X-MODE System

    There are two different versions of the advanced X-MODE® system available on the 2025 Ascent. Both versions of X-MODE incorporate Hill Descent Control, perfect for descending steep inclines.

     

    Standard Version:

      With the push of a button, the system assumes control of the engine, transmission, AWD system, brakes and other critical components to help the driver navigate obstacles such as steep inclines with greater confidence and increased safety. Standard on Convenience and Touring trim levels.

     

    Available Dual-function Version:

      The Onyx, Limited, Sport and Premier trim levels come equipped with dual-function version of X-MODE®, which lets the driver select either the snow/dirt setting or a deep snow/mud setting to gain even more control over the conditions.

    Lineartronic CVT & AWD

    Lineartronic® CVT + Symmetrical Full-Time AWD

     

    All versions of the Ascent come standard with a Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a technologically advanced transmission that incorporates lightweight materials, a wide range of gear ratios and Auto Stepped Speed Control, which triggers shifts like a traditional automatic transmission. 8-speed manual mode with paddle shifters are available on all trim levels.

     

    The CVT is linked to a multi-plate transfer clutch version of Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD that offers predictable handling and shifts torque to the rear wheels under hard acceleration or in low-traction conditions.
